Meet Gary Davis

Hello, I'm Gary Davis, and I'm running for the Fluvanna County School Board to represent the Fork Union District. I'm a proud father of five Students in Fluvanna County, ranging from First Grade at Central Elementary to a Senior at Fluvanna High School.

I have devoted my life to serving others. I am a US Army Veteran working on National Security issues at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC). Additionally, I have volunteered as a soccer coach at the Fluvanna Youth Soccer Association for several years.

I've lived in Fluvanna County since 2010, and my eldest daughter began attending Cunningham School for Pre-K. She has speech apraxia, but the Fluvanna County Public Schools' Special Education Department has been exceptional in aiding her growth and development. This is why I've decided to remain a part of this community.

As an Intelligence Analyst in the US Army and a Contractor, I was awarded multiple times for successfully countering potential enemy efforts. When I joined the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) in Charlottesville, I was assigned to conduct analytical exploitation as part of a Working Group to address a specific issue. Our Working Group's efforts were acknowledged with a National Intelligence Meritorious Unit Citation Award from James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence and retired Lieutenant General for the US Air Force.

In 2018, I received a Director's Impact Award for one of my Intelligence reports making it to the highest national security level, the Presidential Daily Brief. Three years later, my company selected me to be their NGIC Project Lead for the current Government contract I am working on. 

Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to have amazing mentors and supportive individuals who have helped me achieve my accomplishments. Working alongside analysts from various Intelligence Community Agencies was crucial to our mission's success, as it required a team effort with a common goal in mind.

As the next Fork Union representative on the Fluvanna County School Board, I aim to promote teamwork and cooperation among Students, Teachers, Staff, and Parents, all working towards academic success and excellence.
